Just a little over two weeks ago, on Memorial Day, I accepted an invitation from the Peace Corps to serve in Cambodia.
For some background... I started the application process about a year and a half ago. The first part of the application was online and included many, many, sections. Then I went to Atlanta for an interview, and after that I was nominated for a program in Southeast Asia. Then it was on to medical, dental, vision, and legal clearance. This took me awhile, but in May 2010 I finally got the green light! I was invited to be a Health Education Extension Agent in Cambodia, starting July 20th 2010 through September 30th 2012.
Since then I have been filling out more paperwork, reading any information on Cambodia to try and get an idea of what to expect, trying to spend time with everyone I love, eat all the food I love (i.e. lots of chocolate), and watch my favorite movies/tv shows.
Four weeks left until my departure date, and so much to do!
